Volunteer at Home as a FEEA Scholarship Reader

Did you know you can volunteer for FEEA without leaving your house? FEEA’s annual scholarship competition awards more than 250 merit scholarships each year to students across all disciplines and we are looking for volunteers to review scholarship applications in April/May 2018.  This is a great opportunity for junior Feds to get experience reviewing applications that ordinarily would only be possible for supervisors and members of hiring panels.

The evaluation process is completely online and only requires a personal computer to participate. Volunteers can be from any area of government, though all volunteers must be U.S. citizens. You should have 6-10 hours available to volunteer over a 2-3 week period and should be comfortable evaluating:

  • The applicant’s record of academic and personal achievement;
  • The applicant’s record of community service and engagement;
  • The recommendation of the academic or professional contact; and
  • The substance and quality of writing throughout the application.

The majority of applicants are undergraduate students, with some graduate students as well. Interested?
