There was plenty of buzz surrounding the Federal government the last month and for many of its employees, it was a tense week of uncertainty.  “Will they or won’t they” was the question everyone watching the press coverage on the Hill wanted to know.  This was of course, in reference to the Bill that would determine whether the government will remain funded or not.

As it turns out, our elected officials found a way to compromise (it seems) in order to keep the Federal government open.  And that’s a very good thing.  For as many complaints you hear about the grandness of our government, what most citizens don’t realize is how much each and everyone of us contribute, in one way or another, towards the betterment of our country.  So as we gear up for Public Service Recognition Week next week, let’s take a look at some of our unsung heroes, thanks to this finely written piece by Dr. Michael Padgett.
